NBA Unveils Trophies for Inaugural In-Season Tournament
The National Basketball Association has officially unveiled a collection of trophies for its first-ever In-Season Tournament, headlined by the prestigious NBA Cup. This trophy, a symbol of basketball excellence, is the collaborative masterpiece of Tiffany & Co. and artist Victor Solomon.

A New Addition to NBA's Trophy Cabinet

Standing at an impressive 23 inches, The NBA Cup is a seamless blend of tradition and innovation. Its design incorporates gold and black elements, with the former paying homage to the league's storied history and the latter marking a novel addition to the NBA's array of accolades. Crafted from sterling silver and adorned with 24-karat gold vermeil and black ceramic, the trophy is not only a testament to achievement but also a work of art. The base of The NBA Cup features intricate net details that merge the design aspects of both Eastern and Western Conference Championship Trophy bases. A distinctive feature is the underside of the trophy, which proudly displays the NBA In-Season Tournament event logo, adding a layer of exclusivity to this new award.

Recognizing Individual Excellence

In recognition of exceptional individual performance, the tournament will also present the In-Season Tournament MVP Trophy. At 15 inches tall—a nod to the 15 teams in each conference—this trophy is distinguished by two stems representing the final competing teams. It stands as a symbol of personal achievement within the team-oriented sport.

Medals for the Champions

Every player from the championship-winning team will receive a medal, further celebrating their contribution to the team's success. These medals are inscribed with "NBA In-Season Tournament Champions" and the year of the tournament on the front. On the reverse, they feature a silhouette of The NBA Cup, accompanied by two tournament brackets and four balls, symbolizing the semifinalists' journey to the Las Vegas Semifinals.

The All-Tournament Team

Post-tournament, a select panel of media members will have the responsibility of choosing the In-Season Tournament All-Tournament Team. This accolade is reserved for the five players who demonstrate outstanding skill and performance throughout the event. Each member selected for this honor will receive a trophy featuring a solid black crystal basketball with gold channels, one of which showcases a bracket motif in tribute to the tournament's format.

On the Court: Semifinals and Finals

In recent action leading up to the semifinals, the Indiana Pacers clinched a spot with a 122-112 win over the Boston Celtics, while the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Sacramento Kings 127-117 to advance. The anticipation builds as the Los Angeles Lakers are set to face the Phoenix Suns, and the Milwaukee Bucks go head-to-head with the New York Knicks. Winners of these matchups will secure their places in the semifinals scheduled for Thursday, December 7, setting the stage for the championship game on Saturday, December 9.

Fanfare and Festivities

Beyond the hardwood, Toshiba Plaza will transform into a hub of fan engagement during the tournament. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the larger-than-life NBA Cup trophy, purchase exclusive merchandise, and participate in basketball-themed activities. Adding to the excitement, Nelly and TLC are slated to perform in a unique concert experience between the semifinal games. As part of "The Sum: All-Star Music Battle," a new reality competition, fans over the age of 18 can vie for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform alongside these musical powerhouses. As the NBA continues to innovate and captivate its global audience, the In-Season Tournament is shaping up to be a dazzling display of basketball prowess and entertainment. With the introduction of The NBA Cup and associated honors, the league has elevated the stakes and spectacle of in-season play, promising to deliver unforgettable moments on and off the court.
