Under his leadership, the Blackhawks achieved a record of 87-92-26. He also coached their AHL affiliate in Rockford.

He has spent time coaching in Sweden's second league from 2013 to 2017 and served as the head coach for Team Canada during the 2022 Winter Olympics, stepping in for Claude Julien due to an injury.
